Cork City & County Receiver of Fines
As Receiver of Fines, Sinead McNamara is responsible for the collection of court-imposed fines throughout Cork City and County, ensuring compliance with financial penalties mandated by the court system and proper administration of the fines collection process.

Our Services and Functions
The Sheriff's Office enforces legal obligations through Revenue Warrants and Court Orders throughout Cork City and County.
Court Order Enforcement
The Sheriff enforces Court Orders under the Enforcement of Court Orders Act, 1926, as amended. This involves executing Revenue Warrants, collecting judgment debts, and when necessary, seizing assets within the Sheriff's bailiwicks to discharge outstanding obligations.
Revenue Collection
The Sheriff carries out tax debt collection on behalf of Revenue under Section 960L of the Taxes Consolidation Act, 1997. This includes the authority to seize assets within the bailiwick to satisfy outstanding liabilities when payment demands have not been met.
Property Repossession
When directed by court order, the Sheriff may repossess property.
Receiver of Fines
As the Receiver of Fines for Cork City & County, the Sheriff executes Fines Orders for the collection of unpaid court fines. This function involves tracking payments, processing collections, and when necessary, enforcing collection through legal means including the seizure of assets and/or attachment of bank accounts.

Sinead McNamara, as Cork City & County Sheriff executes Revenue Warrants, Court Orders and collects Revenue Liabilities throughout Cork City and County.
Sinead McNamara (BCL, Diploma in Employment Law) has served as the Cork County Sheriff since March 1, 2013, and was appointed as Cork City Sheriff from June 6th, 2025. She was appointed by the Irish government and operates pursuant to statute in her dual roles as Sheriff and Receiver of Fines.
The Sheriff's office is committed to upholding the rule of law by efficiently executing Court Orders and enforcing judgments, while treating all individuals with dignity and respect.
The Sheriff's Office works closely with government agencies, legal professionals, and the Courts to ensure the proper administration of debt enforcement throughout Cork City and County.

A bailiwick is the geographical area within which a sheriff has legal authority to execute Revenue Warrants, Court Orders and carry out enforcement functions. The Cork City & County Sheriff's bailiwicks encompass the entirety of Cork County, including Cork City.

Within the bailiwicks, the Sheriff has exclusive authority to execute Revenue Warrants and Court Orders. This includes debt enforcement and asset seizure.
